Lindsay Lohan Bio
Lindsay Dee Lohan is one of the most famous, controversial young hollywood stars to date. She is certainly considered a "bad girl" and there are plenty of stories to back that label up. She has been in fights, been arrested twice, caught drunk driving with drugs(cocaine) on her and has been seen partying all over L.A.
Lindsay Lohan was born in The Bronx and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island in New York. She was born to Dina and Micheal Lohan (recently divorced), both former actors, on 2 July 1986. She has three younger siblings: Michael, Dakota and Aliana (Ali). Her mother, Dina Lohan; her sister, Ali Lohan and her brother, Dakota, had cameos in The Parent Trap (1998) during the airport scene and Freaky Friday (2003) during the wedding scene.
Lindsay started in show business as a child fashion model for magazine ads and television commercials through Ford Models agency at the age of three. At age ten, she began her acting career in a soap opera; at eleven, she made her motion picture debut by playing both twins in Disneys 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. Lindsays breakout role as a leading actress came six years later with 2004's Mean Girls. Mean Girls was a bit true to life for Lindsay, in some ways.
Lindsay was also interested in a singing career. In June 2001, Lohan took a brief hiatus from acting. Her music career was launched over a year later, when Estefan Enterprises made a five-album production deal with her in September 2002, and she signed a recording contract with the reactivated Casablanca Records. Her debut album, Speak, was released in December 2004, and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. By early 2005, it was certified Platinum.
In December 2005, her second album, A Little More Personal (Raw), debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, but fell under the top 100 within six weeks.
In 2005, Lohan became the first living person to have a "My Scene Goes Hollywood" doll released by Mattel. She also voiced herself in the direct-to-DVD feature film based on the dolls. Lohan, next, returned to Disney for Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), the fifth film in the long-dormant Herbie series. Her rising popularity allowed her to choose from a wider variety of projects and, at age 19, Lohan felt Herbie would help her make the transition into more grown-up roles. Fully Loaded earned $144,146,816 worldwide.
Lindsay's films pretty much sunk from there on forward. Her next film in wide release, Just My Luck, opened in May 2006 to poor reviews and earned only $38 million worldwide. The following month, A Prairie Home Companion, in limited release ended its run with $25,648,948 globally. Her latest film, I Know Who Killed Me, also had poor reviews and ticket sales.
One good thing to note....in 2007, Lindsay Lohan was voted #1 on Maxim's "HOT 100" List!
