On November 15, 2007 Lohan turned herself in to the Los Angeles County women's detention center in Lynwood; the same facility that was splashed across headlines just months ago when Paris Hilton and later Nicole Ritchie were booked and retained.

After entering the facility, Lohan submitted to a search, fingerprinting and was placed in a holding cell. A sheriff's spokesman said that she was allowed to keep her street clothes. Further reports indicated that she was cooperative during the process.

Less than two hours after turning herself in, Lohan was released. Lohan was originally sentenced to an entire day in jail; however, that time period was reduced when factors such as overcrowding and the nonviolent nature of her crime were taken into consideration. In total, Lohan spent a mere 84 minutes in jail.

Sheriff's department spokespeople have been adamant to point out that Lohan did not receive special treatment. A spokesman even went so far as to point out that between 30 and 50 women receive early release from the same facility each day.

Lohan was originally arrested in May of 2007 after she crashed her Mercedes-Benz in Beverly Hills. In July she was arrested once again when another motorist, who turned out to be the mother of Lohan's former personal assistant, called 911 to report that an SUV was chasing her. Police arrested Lohan when the chase ended in Santa Monica. Lohan was found to be in possession of small amounts of cocaine in both instances.

Lohan reached a plea deal on misdemeanor drunken driving and related cocaine charges in August.

For those interested in keeping track, Lohan spent an entire two minutes longer in lockup than Nicole Ritchie. Paris Hilton spent 23 days at the same facility earlier in the year for charges related to driving on a suspended license while on probation.
